报告摘要:
The durability of catalysts is almost always a major issue in the development and commercialization of catalytic fuel conversion and utilization processes. Catalytic combustion is especially prone to catalyst deactivation because of the high temperatures, high partial pressures of oxygen and water vapor, rapid thermal transients, very high ambient air exposure levels, etc. This presentation will cover the experimental techniques, analysis of results, and modeling of aging phenomena in the extensive investigation and mitigation of materials durability issues for the commercialization of catalytic combustion by Catalytica Energy Systems (1997-2006). Topics include: 1-Hydrothermal aging of active and supporting catalyst phases, 2-Adhesion and cohesion of catalyst washcoat, and 3-Poisoning and inhibition of catalyst activity. A brief introduction to catalytic combustion process and application to turbine power generation will proceed the discussion of catalyst materials durability.
